Dawn of a new day was not my favorite movie. I thought that it was an interesting story about persistence and determination, however I felt like the story needed to be told in a more dramatic fashion. More things needed to happen to keep my attention during the build up to the climax. To me it was a great story that was told over too long of a period.
Another thing I disliked was the fact that the eldest son was furious with his father when his mother went to the hospital. Then the father continues to not be there and all the mother says to him is you should support your father. Then the eldest son is immediately understanding of his father and they never talk about it. It seemed like they were trying to build up the tension between the son and the father all movie then there is no fight or anything, it's just all the sudden OK.
I did like the fight scene in the factory though. That would probably be my favorite scene in the whole movie. Not because it was a great fight or anything like that, more because it was a continuously changing mob of angry people, who none of which were throwing and punches, or kicks, or anything. They were all just grabbing each other, then others would split them up then they would grab other people. It was just crazzzzy.
Like I said not my favorite movie, mainly because it was too long and too slow. I give it one out of five stars. -Ryan Perry
