Movie Review:陽はまた昇る

Dawn of New Day is the typical Japanese Movie, which always trying to teacher us a lesson about the purpose of life. It’s set at the War of Home video in Japan, our main character 加賀谷静男(Kagaya Shizuo), a man who just like his name “quiet male” was promote (actually, demote in other way) to become the department manager of the unit of TV and Video Division in Yokohama. before all the promotion/demotion thing states, he noticed that the old fashion video typing system is too heavy and not a lot people would like to have, he was think about something. While the Kagaya family gets company in their house, Kagaya get some idea in his mind. After he went to the Division, he was trying to avoid the order(s) from the headquarter. And secretly build the video system. After they tried for two years (from 1973-1975) at their 10,000’s experiment the VHS finally success, and the name VHS (Video Home System) finally gets its official name. As well as become the first version of the unified T-120 video machines and types. At the end of the movie, the typical ending occurs too... all the members of VHS stand out and form the human letters of “VHS” and showing their appreciations to Kagaya.

In this movie, I learned about the process of building the VHS and the history behind our daily electronic machine. I always thought that VHS was found by Sony, but the truth is VHS was found by JVC. Finally, the theme of the movie is “Never Give up”, which was quote by Kato sensei before the movie starts.
